Vollmer has set new benchmarks in the industry time and time again with innovative developments, for example with tactile thickness measurement accurate to the micrometre, with the first shape measurement systems as early as the 1970s or unique control processes for the thickness or laser-optical thickness measurement directly in the cold rolling mill.
