AGC (Automatic Gauge Control)
The measurement of the strip thickness in the mill provides information on the actual condition of the strip. To affect the strip thickness so that the finished strip tolerances are within the required close limits of a few µm, is the task of the automatic gauge control (AGC).
We differentiate between:
- High speed strip thickness controls, working with a servohydraulic mill screwdown.
- Simple control modules that replace the manual control of the operator on older mills with electromechanical mill screwdowns.

BFI Article shows new design for shape roll measurement
The well-proven BFI version shape measurement roll has undergone a design change that improves its ability to measure the tensions profile on flat product without marking the strip. The detectors have been redesigned to fit into the roll while leaving the surface of the roll completely clear of machined marks. This eliminates the former problems associated with the axially installed sensors.
