Strip Shape Measurement on Tension Levellers
This shapemeter roll has been specifically developed for application on tension levellers, offering a particularly attractive price-performance ratio for this application.
In tension levellers, the number of measurement zones is usually adapted to the number of adjusting saddles. The rolls are installed in the exit section of leveller. The Vollmer measurement roll is ideally adapted to the operating conditions of SBL (Stretch-Bend-Level) lines.

BFI Article shows new design for shape roll measurement
The well-proven BFI version shape measurement roll has undergone a design change that improves its ability to measure the tensions profile on flat product without marking the strip. The detectors have been redesigned to fit into the roll while leaving the surface of the roll completely clear of machined marks. This eliminates the former problems associated with the axially installed sensors.
