VRecoS is a system for the visualisation and recording of 4 measurement parameters, offering no statistical function (for which VGraph is available). With its neat protocols and practical print functions, it is the ideal instrument for the recording of the measurement results.

VGraph records up to 16 measurement parameters in a production unit in parallel (such as strip thickness, strip width, strip speed, roll force, temperature, …), evaluating them statistically.

The FFT analysis option offers a product showing recurrent periodical strip thickness variations both during the strip thickness measurement (on-line, 2D) and after completion of the coil (off-line, 3D) so that our copper customers, rolling material for the coaxial cable production, will recognise which coils can be applied for which coaxial cable standards.
Our steel customers use the FFT instrument for preventive maintenance and fault finding in the mill (the wave length of the recurrent strip thickness variation indicates which roller, which roll or which bearing requires maintenance).

While the strip thickness tolerances were a significant criterion for the quality assessment of strip material in the eighties and nineties, significant improvements in controls and automation have made good thickness control a given among suppliers.
During this past fall, we installed our first two – Model A3000 Isotope Thickness Gauges in Mexico. The application was for stainless steel on a heavy-duty reversing mill with 24/7 operation.

The well-proven BFI version shape measurement roll has undergone a design change that improves its ability to measure the tensions profile on flat product without marking the strip. The detectors have been redesigned to fit into the roll while leaving the surface of the roll completely clear of machined marks. This eliminates the former problems associated with the axially installed sensors.
