X-ray and isotope gauges work with a air gap of 120 to 400 mm (even greater on request). Their application is possible in all environments.
Advantages
Low maintenance, cross profile measurement possible.
Specific plus of our non-contact gauges
Extremely narrow design (120 mm C-frame width), enabling a design as a retractable C-frame even with limited space.
The design version with control residing in a PLC type S7 offers the advantages of an open system and a flexible integration.

X-Ray Gauges

Particularly low noise
The low noise (0,08 %) enables the best measurement results even with high-speed strip and short integration times (10 ms and less). Particularly helpful if periodically recurrent strip thickness variations are to be detected by an FFT Analysis in the case of short wave lengths.
Very small measurement spot (diameter 5 – 10 mm)
The small measurement spot (5 mm, for example) is good for a highly accurate measurement even with high-speed units, enabling the finest resolution of the cross profile to the strip edge.
Isotope Gauges
Easy construction – almost maintenance free
The measurement spot diameter of 40 mm is not as small as with the more powerful X-ray gauges, but still relatively small compared to other versions of isotope gauges.
Low noise even with integration times of 50 ms. Specific feature: Tungsten drawer for the isotope source.
